August 8th Today our friends Nori and Hiroko came over from Tokyo. They brought their dog "Chappy" with them. As you can see from the picture, Chappy is tiny. At first I think Koo thought Chappy was a rabbit !! Koo was going mad, and we didn't think we would be able to let them play together. |

But as the day went on, they
got used to each other. Koo was a bit rough with poor little Chappy, but
thats what you get when you put a Jack Russel and a Chiwawa together ! |
| What was amazing was Hiroko's way with dogs. We have been trying to train Koo for a few weeks and not really getting anywhere. In five minutes she had Koo sitting, lying down, and going into his cage of his own free will. We couldn't believe it. She has trained Chappy to do all kinds of tricks. She can pretend to shoot Chappy and she plays dead, and if you tell her to roll over she does it. Luckily Hiroko let us know her secret weapon !! Basically, you cut the dogs food rations in half, then use the other half as rewards when the dog does something good. The results were amazing.......watch this space !! I am planning on having Koo moonwalking round the house in no time !! |  |

Then after a long day playing in the park, chasing Chappy, and training, Koo fell asleep in a corner of the living room.........a well earned rest !! |
